BUILT FOR THE FIELD
Rugged performance for demanding shifts
Explore the TOUGHBOOK 40 Mk3: a full-size rugged laptop with an outdoor-readable touchscreen, configurable ports and security options. Build around your agency’s applications, vehicles and shift requirements.
Rugged & field-ready
Fully rugged construction combines a magnesium-alloy chassis and integrated handle. Panasonic lists a 6-foot drop rating, MIL-STD-810H and MIL-STD-461G testing, and IP66 protection against dust and powerful water jets.
The 14-inch Full HD touchscreen adjusts from 1 to 1,200 nits. Rain, glove and pen modes help crews work outdoors. A backlit keyboard and programmable keys support frequent tasks.
Starting weight is about 7.5 lb, depending on configuration. Class I, Division 2 is an optional configuration; confirm the required rating before purchase.
Power & productivity
Windows 11 Pro and Intel Core Ultra 5 or optional Ultra 7 processors support demanding field workloads. Configure 16–64GB DDR5 memory and a 512GB, 1TB or 2TB main SSD, with an optional second drive.
Panasonic rates battery life up to 12 hours, or 24 hours with the optional second battery, using MobileMark 30. Real-world runtime varies with applications, brightness, connectivity and configuration.
Hot-swapping requires the second battery. Optional AMD 8GB dedicated graphics has battery and antenna limitations—see the configuration notes below.
Connected & modular
Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 are standard. Optional 4G LTE or 5G provides mobile broadband, with nano-SIM and eSIM support. FirstNet connectivity requires an eligible service and supported configuration; coverage and speeds vary.
Eight user-replaceable areas support changing needs. Optional xPAK modules include a barcode reader, Smart Card readers, optical drive, second SSD and additional ports.
Built-in connections include Thunderbolt 4 USB-C, USB-A, HDMI and Ethernet. Select expansion options for serial devices and other peripherals. Modules sharing a slot cannot be combined.
Security & support
Secured-core PC features, TPM 2.0 and OPAL encrypted storage support agency security policies. Optional FIPS 140-2 storage, fingerprint and Smart Card readers provide additional configuration choices.
A 5MP infrared webcam supports Windows Hello and includes a privacy cover. Four microphones with AI noise reduction and 95dB speakers help with communication in noisy environments.
Panasonic provides a three-year limited warranty. Ask about optional TOUGHCare accidental-damage coverage, extended service and deployment support. Coverage, exclusions and service terms depend on the selected plan.
CONFIGURE WITH TGR
Match the laptop to your mission
Plan your agency’s TOUGHBOOK 40 deployment with TGR.
Share your CAD, reporting or ePCR applications, fleet size, vehicle models and deployment timeline. Review Havis or Gamber-Johnson docking options, in-vehicle power, antennas and peripherals alongside the laptop configuration. Ask about Panasonic deployment services, imaging and optional coverage.
Which options fit your fleet?
Optional AMD 8GB graphics models cannot use a second battery or antenna pass-through. Confirm vehicle docking, power and antenna needs before choosing this configuration.
Expansion choices share slots. A second battery and right-side Smart Card reader cannot be installed together. Review xPAK combinations, carrier support and application requirements with TGR before ordering.
